  • Overview

     

    The primary purpose of the Senior Outside Sales Manager, Catering is to generate new sales of both casual and full-service catering by securing new preferred and exclusive venues as well as new corporate clients.   This individual is the leader of the outside sales team.  In addition, this individual is responsible for ensuring that we exceed customer expectations and meet both Company and departmental objectives. 

     

    Responsibilities

     

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Manage the sales team members to ensure that the budgeted sales goals are achieved each quarter and fiscal year.
      1. Set sales goals by period and quarter to achieve annual objectives
      2. Motivate sales associates to achieve goals
      3. Hold accountable those associates that fall short of their sales goals
    2. Seek out prospective customers and business opportunities with new client base
    3. Makes personal sales calls and cold calls at customer sites and on the phone on a regular basis
    4. Effectively promote Di Bruno Bros.’ Catering services and products to maximize sales
      1. Find multiple new venues annually, at a minimum with preferred status, ideally exclusive
      2. Build strong relationships with potential clients
      3. Develop strategy for cold-calling to procure new corporate clients
      4. Travel as necessary to visit existing and potential clients to solicit orders
    5. Meet profit margin objectives as established by management
    6. Compile and maintain an accurate list of prospective clients for use as sales leads based on sources such as newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, websites and others.
    7. Maintain awareness of the merchandise available to the clients and awareness of client needs to make appropriate sales
    8. Stay current on existing and emerging products and technologies as well as industry trends to identify potential opportunities for growth
    9. Introduces and demonstrates new products to potential accounts
    10. Develops an effective and productive working relationship with commissary team leaders
    11. Assist in development of sales forecast and sales plan to support company objective
    12. Maintains abreast of competition and establishes a cadence for analyzing and reporting
    13. Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of the position and Company policy
    14. Executes sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring a favorable impression of self and company

    Qualifications

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of 10 years prior Outside Sales experience required
    • Minimum of 5 years supervising sales associates
    • Proven track record of achieving sales revenue and margin goals
    • Self-motivated; able to perform with minimal supervision
    • Ability to travel up to 80% between business units, event locations and client meetings
    • Ability to communicate with customers, staff and colleagues
    • Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills and close attention to detail
    • Competency in Microsoft Suite
    • Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
    • Detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task in stressful situations
    • Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business.

The individual is required to stand for the majority of their shift and will frequently be required to walk or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The individual will occasionally be required to sit and climb or balance. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.

     

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    The performance of this position requires that the individual be able to travel independently between business units and event and meeting locations. The individual will work in very close proximity with co-workers and come into contact with both co-workers and the public. For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and equipment are found as in a traditional office.  Floors and hallways may be slippery at times.

     

    Due to the nature of our industry, the performance of this position will require the individual to spend time in a facility in which he/she will be exposed, either directly or indirectly, to potential food allergens including (but not limited to): peanuts, gluten, corn, egg, fish, milk, shellfish, soy, tree nut and wheat.
