Overview

This individual is responsible for ensuring that we exceed customer expectations, communicate with our team members, and meet both Company and departmental objectives.

 

The primary purpose of the Steward is to provide support to Commissary operations under direct supervision. This individual will maintain the kitchen and surrounding areas in a clean and sanitary manner by following a cleaning schedule and adhering to guidelines set forth by local health authorities and Di Bruno’s management team.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  1. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
  2. Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
  3. Communicates with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
  4. Clean and store dishes, equipment and small wares
  5. Cleans stoves, ovens, grills, refrigerators, and using cleaning solutions, brushes and wash cloths.
  6. Washes utensils, such as pots, pans, and trays by hand using cleaning detergents.  Washes dishware, glasses, and cutlery by hand or machine.  Occasionally polishes utensils.  Drains dries and stacks items after washing.
  7. Clean, mop, sweep and dust facilities as necessary; Executes deep cleaning projects as assigned by culinary management team
  8. Receives, stores and distributes supplies; Assists with receiving and monitoring floor stock
  9. Change light bulbs and other miscellaneous tasks
  10. Assist in making minor repairs on equipment and facilities
  11. Occasionally prepare and/or package simple foods
  12. Understand and Follow all Commissary Kitchen SOPs
  13. Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and fellow Associates
  • Ability to read, write and count
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business.
