The primary purpose of the Cheesemonger is to educate our customers about the cheeses available at Di Bruno Bros. and to continue to grow their knowledge as a cheese professional. This individual is responsible for providing friendly, courteous and helpful customer service while preparing customer orders.


  1. Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of Company policy
  2. Educate customers about the cheeses and other products available in the store
  3. Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements
  4. Maintain the highest level of standards in all cutting and product preparation and preservation
  5. Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
  6. Produce superior product presentation
  7. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
  8. Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
  9. Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock
  10. Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices
  11. Communicate any customer special requests to management
  12. Communicates with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
  13. Creative merchandising, including the building of effective displays
  14. Taking assigned inventory and assisting in ordering and developing production quantities
  15. Additional duties as assigned


  • A minimum of 6 months in a similar role within the cheese industry
  • Highly developed working knowledge of various cheese groups, families and pairings
  • Participation in continuous education to further knowledge of products
  • Ability to consistently care for and service the product and displays, including cutting, wrapping and utilization of the cryovac machine
  • Ability to communicate with customers and fellow Associates
  • Ability to incrementally impact sales in a positive manner
  • Proficiency in Customer Service
  • Ability to read, write and count
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business.
