The primary purpose of the Outside Sales Representative is to generate sales of both casual and full-service catering by securing preferred and exclusive venues as well as corporate clients.  This individual is responsible for ensuring that we exceed customer expectations and meet both Company and departmental objectives.



  1. Seek out prospective customers and business opportunities with new client base
  2. Makes personal sales calls and cold calls at customer sites and on the phone on a regular basis
  3. Effectively promote Di Bruno Bros.’ Catering services and products to maximize sales
    1. Find multiple new venues annually, at a minimum with preferred status, ideally exclusive
    2. Build strong relationships with potential clients
    3. Develop strategy for cold-calling to procure new corporate clients
    4. Travel as necessary to visit existing and potential clients to solicit orders
  4. Meet sales revenue and profit margin objectives as established by management
  5. Compile and maintain an accurate list of prospective clients for use as sales leads based on sources such as newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, websites and others.
  6. Maintain awareness of the merchandise available to the clients and awareness of client needs to make appropriate sales
  7. Stay current on existing and emerging products and technologies as well as industry trends to identify potential opportunities for growth
  8. Introduces and demonstrates new products to potential accounts
  9. Develops an effective and productive working relationship with commissary team leaders
  10. Assist in development of sales forecast and sales plan to support company objective
  11. Maintains abreast of competition and establishes a cadence for analyzing and reporting
  12. Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of the position and Company policy
  13. Executes sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring a favorable impression of self and company



  • 7-10 years of prior Outside Sales experience required; minimum 4 years of Catering/Event experience
  • Self-motivated; able to perform with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel up to 80% between business units, event locations and client meetings
  • Ability to communicate with customers, staff and colleagues
  • Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills and close attention to detail
  • Competency in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task in stressful situations
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business.
