The primary purpose of the Prepared Foods Specialist is to assist with the operations and financial results of the Prepared Foods department. This individual will assist to train and manage department personnel and supervise/coordinate related retail activities. As a primary contact for Di Bruno Bros.’ customers, this position is responsible for ensuring that we exceed customer expectations, develop our Associates and meet Company objectives.



1. Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of Company policy
2. Assist with the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and financial results of the department
3. Assist to manage staff in a manner consistent with Di Bruno Bros.’ Servant Leadership Philosophy
    a. Assist to establish performance goals, allocate resources and assess policies for department Associates
    b. Assist to conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals and administer rewards and discipline as necessary
    c. Assist to coach and motivate Associates to foster ongoing development and help them reach their potential
    d. Ensure compliance of Associates with established policies, procedures and practices
4. Assist to monitor department budget and payroll including COG, labor and expenses, taking action when necessary to meet all sales and profitability goals
5. Oversee quality standards; assist in conducting continuous inspections and testing of all products to ensure that Company standards are met
6. Assist to ensure that all federal, state, local and Company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, sanitation and weights and measures are met
7. Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements
8. Maintain the highest level of standards in product display and preparation
9. Sell and serve Prepared Food Items
10. Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
11. Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
12. Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock
13. Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices
14. Communicate any customer special requests to management
15. Communicates with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
16. Additional duties as assigned


 One to three years of equivalent experience and training
 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
 Ability to think critically
 Ability to communicate clearly with customers and fellow Associates
 Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
 Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
 Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
 Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business
