  • Overview

    The primary purpose of the Coffee Bar and Bread Specialist is to oversee the operations and financial results of the Coffee Bar. This individual will train and manage department personnel and supervise/coordinate related retail activities. As a primary contact for Di Bruno Bros.’ customers, this position is responsible for ensuring that we exceed customer expectations, develop our Associates and meet Company objectives.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of Company policy
    2. Manage the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and financial results of the department
    3. Manage staff in a manner consistent with Di Bruno Bros.’ Servant Leadership Philosophy
      1. Assist to establish performance goals, allocate resources and assess policies for department Associates
      2. Assist to conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals and administer rewards and discipline as necessary
      3. Assist to coach and motivate Associates to foster ongoing development and help them reach their potential
      4. Ensure compliance of Associates with established policies, procedures and practices
    4. Assist to monitor department budget and payroll including COG, labor and expenses, taking action when necessary to meet all sales and profitability goals
    5. Oversee quality standards; assist in conducting continuous inspections and testing of all products to ensure that Company standards are met
    6. Assist to ensure that all federal, state, local and Company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, sanitation and weights and measures are met
    7. Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers
    8. Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements
    9. Prepare top quality hot and cold beverages to order
    10. Maintain the highest level of standards in all drink and product preparation
    11. Sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items
    12. Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
    13. Produce superior product presentation
    14. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
    15. Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
    16. Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock
    17. Communicate with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
    18. Additional duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS

    • One to three years of coffee bar management experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to think critically
    • Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system
    • Ability to communicate with customers and fellow Associates
    • Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
    • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
    • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
    • Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business
