The primary purpose of the Store Team Leader is to maintain responsibility for the operation and financial results of the Di Bruno Bros.' Comcast location. The Store Team Leader will train and manage department personnel and supervise/coordinate all related retail activities. This individual is responsible for ensuring that we exceed customer expectations, develop our Associates and meet both Company and store objectives. 



  1. Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of the position and Company policy
  2. Oversee direction, coordination, evaluation and financial results of Di Bruno Bros. at 9th Street.
  3. Manage staff in a manner consistent with Di Bruno Bros. philosophy of Servant Leadership by maximizing productivity, customer service and Associate satisfaction:
    1. Establish performance goals, allocate resources and assess policies for Associates
    2. Conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals and administer rewards and discipline as necessary
    3. Coach and motivate Associates to foster ongoing development and help them reach their potential
    4. Ensure compliance of Associates with established policies, procedures and practices
  4. Supervise all store Associates engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operations records and preparing daily record of transactions
  5. Ensure compliance of Associates with established retail policies and procedures, security, sales and record-keeping procedures and practices
  6. Responsible for scheduling staff to ensure high efficiency, labor within budget and an excellent customer experience
  7. Schedule and oversee proper equipment operation and maintenance
  8. Ensure that all federal, state, local and Company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, sanitation and weights and measures are met
  9. Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepare merchandise displays
  10. Monitor store budget and payroll including sales, COG, labor and expenses
    1. Take corrective action as necessary to meet sales and profitability objections
  11. Identify problems and opportunities and utilize management information resources when making decisions
  12. Develop realistic solutions to operational problems, recommend actions designed to prevent these problems, assign problems to subordinates when appropriate and Sr. Management when necessary
  13. Perform periodic inspections of store conditions, taking corrective action when necessary
  14. Perform various office and accounting functions
  15. Additional duties and projects as assigned


• Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of management experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to effectively manage a retail unit, train and cross-train staff
• Ability to communicate with customers, staff and colleagues
• Competency in Microsoft Suite
• Proficiency with automated reporting systems including those used for inventory, food cost, scheduling, time & attendance, gross margin and labor
• Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
• Experienced in ordering, inventory maintenance and shrink control
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Ability to move or handle product and supplies throughout the store
• Ability to develop teams, delegate effectively and to prioritize when dealing with multiple tasks.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business.

The individual is required to stand for the majority of their shift and will frequently be required to walk or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The individual will occasionally be required to sit and climb or balance. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 75 pounds. 
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The performance of this position will require that the individual be able to travel independently among various business units. The individual will work in very close proximity with co-workers and to come into physical contact with both co-workers and the public. For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and tools are found as in a traditional deli. The individual will frequently come into contact with utensils necessary to prepare the products as they are sold, such as sharp tools such as knives. Floors may be slippery at times. 
Due to the nature of our industry, the performance of this position will require the individual to spend time in a facility in which he/she will be exposed, either directly or indirectly, to potential food allergens including (but not limited to): peanuts, gluten, corn, egg, fish, milk, shellfish, soy, tree nut and wheat.
